Subject: Bent Rims??

I'm hoping someone out there can help me. My husband is in Iraq and I'm left to make all the car decisions on my own. I had front breaks installed a year ago through a BWM dealership. They didn't properly install the caliper (sp?) and the car would shake pretty hard periodically. I took it back several times and they didn't know what was wrong. I took it to a certified location and they located the problem and replaced the breaks. Ever since it's not been the quiet smooth powerful ride I'm used to. I took it back to the certified location to make sure this wasn't due to a problem that would get worse over time... Turns out I now need 3 new tires because they are cupped. I also need 4 new rims because they are all bent. GEEZ!! To get them fixed it's $400/rim. I've mentioned it to several people and they all find it strange. Some have said it's not possible to bend them... they would break. Others said I would have had to drive through a road filled with nothing but pot holes for something like that to happen. I'm not sure what I should do... It's a $1200 expense and want to make sure this place isn't trying to take me for a ride because my husband is gone. The place DOES have a good reputation and have been very nice to me but want to be sure I know what I'm doing before I find the cash. It's a 2002 325i with 72K miles on it.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
Robin
