I've been drving for over 50 years and have seen quite a few races in one sense or another, but one sticks in my mind and no speeding (as I recall anyway) was involved.

In 1976 I was moving across country from Maine to California, driving my 1954 chevy pickup with a Harley in the bed and my BMW towing behind. Going west out of Denver I was going up the grade toward Loveland tunnel and was passing many cars not able to keep legal speed up the hill. The best one I passed was a guy in a new Chrysler who was beating on his steering wheel very hard, with both hands, trying to make his car go faster.
