I have an orbital but I find it quicker and easier by hand. I use the waxing pads by Griots works the best.

Orbitals will not burn the paint but they just take longer to apply the wax.

A true buffer used with a trained person will yield the best results. You will cut through the oxidation fast to fresh clear coat but it takes a lot of practice. That why they make the orbital but it just spreads wax around, thats all.
