installed one of these units in his 97 e38. My memory is foggy...but I believe it was a few years ago...it might have been while he was still in NJ (before his move to Florida).

I ask, because he would be able to answer any e38 owners questions about where to run the GPS antenna etc. For those who have questions about MID and steering wheel functions...from what I've read...the dedicated BMW/Traffic Pro (unlike the Becker/Traffic Pro units) retain their BMW functionality and the redundant steering wheel controls & CD changer. The MID unit still works (just like if you installed the CD43 or C33 BMW radios).

Again, if anyone knows how to contact Wise Guy...we could get direct info from someone who's installed one in an e38.

For e32/e34 owners...check out Johan on the e32 board or his website...he has one installed in his e32. And if you go to the links David posted...you can download the owners manual (PDF format) or read Rachel's excellent instructions on how she installed the unit in her Z3 (great write-up).
