Finally finished my pdc install and made some time to post this up for you guys. First A BIG Thanks to Nick (JaguarS4R). He’s usually parting out cars on our For Sale forums & if you need parts, I highly recommend him. He went out of his way a few times to make sure I didn’t have any issues during the installation. Basically made sure the whole wiring harness was plug and play. I was really short on $$ thanks to me breaking my windshield. I bought the kit for a cheap price knowing 2 sensors were bad and without the center switch. I couldn't find either part for cheap and called Nick. Don't know if it was cuz of the holidays or cuz I’ve bought a lot of parts from him but as a thanks he sent me the parts for free.. To say I was surprised is an understatement. I don’t expect this kind of gesture even from people I’ve helped! He’s a real bmw enthusiast and a really great guy to deal with. Thanks for all your help dude!!

And also thanks to Shled for offering to help me wire this thing up if I got stuck, and sending me the pdc installation instructions link pdc linkPDC kit came from a 2001 so wiring colors may vary from an older models.*

Here it goes,
Basically you get 3 wiring harnesses:
1. Goes from front bumper to PDC module (in battery area of trunk) – Plug and play
2. Goes from rear bumper to PDC module (in battery area of trunk) – Plug and play
3. Goes from PDC module and is connected to car’s existing wiring harness & front center switch – 7 wires (with connectors)

Total of seven wires to be joined to car
3 Wires routed to front of car (Center console and under glove box)
3 Wires routed in trunk area
1 Wire routed to the rear shelf (rear speaker)

Removal:
-remove front bumper
-remove Inner front wheel liner (passenger side)
-remove front/rear door footwell moldings (passenger side)
-remove B-pillar molding which holds front/rear footwell moldings
-move front carpet to expose firewall cover (passenger side)
-remove firewall cover (passenger side)
-remove rear seat bottom and back
-remove entire rear shelf area and subwoofer speaker box
-remove rear bumper (if possible) or fish wires through existing holes

Front PDC Harness Routing (Hardest part of job)

Route front pdc harness from front bumper to pdc module in battery area (trunk). Remove all the following items and use the diagram above to route harness.
-remove front bumper and route harness through exisiting holes.

-remove Inner front wheel liner (passenger side) and route new harness along existing wires to the firewall port hole

-remove front door footwell moldings and the cover below the glovebox to move front carpet and expose firewall cover (passenger side)

-remove firewall cover from inside and fish wires through the port

-remove rear footwell molding, B-pillar molding and seat bottom/back to route wires to towards the rear shelf.

-remove entire rear shelf area and route the harness into the trunk through the existing square shaped port (you can’t miss it) and into the trunk.

Rear bumper harness Routing (Easiest part of the job)
Removing the rear bumper wasn’t possible for me. Didn’t have the right tool for it so I fished the harness through the bumper holes.

Then routed it into the battery area through the factory cutout directly under the passenger side tail lamp. You can see the battery ground cable stick out in the pic

Rear pdc speaker
Bolt new speaker at rear shelf (passenger side)

Front pdc speaker
It’s the same as front ‘gong’ speaker below glovebox. Just needs a wire from pdc module harness. Mine was cut from the harness so Nick comes through again. I asked for just the pdc speaker connector and he sends me the speaker just incase it was different . Notice the speaker in my car has two connectors. The second pic shows same gong speaker with the third pdc connector.

Connecting PDC module Harness
Basically one side of the harness (main harness clip “H”-as noted in pdf manual) goes into the pdc module in trunk. The other side of the harness is 7 wires that are to be joined to your car from the harness clip (H). You need blade and pin connectors for this part of the job. I go to the dealer and 2 wasted hours later they don’t have any of the connectors and I must provide them with part numbers for them to order it. I couldn’t find the part numbers at the time so I was stuck. Here’s where buying from a good parts guy like Nick comes in handy. I call him up and he sent me every connector I could need to get this thing wired up without having to splice any existing harness.
I needed one blade terminal and Nick sends the fuse slot unit. Thanks again for saving me the hassle.
I have extra connectors left over now and I was able to figure out how the fuse unit works. Basically one side of the fuse slot is fully powered and the other side you can populate using a blade connector and fuse.

A1, A2, A3, B, E, G1, G2, H designations are directly from PDC installation document.
A1 = Green/black wire ----------- Power
A2 = White/Grey/Yellow -------- IBUS
A3 = Brown/Black ----------------- Ground
B = Blue/Red -------------------- Rear PDC Speaker
E = Black/Yellow wire ----------- Front PDC Speaker
G1 = Brown/Grey/Yellow -------- Switch On
G2 = Brown/Blue/Yellow -------- Switch Off

Wiring Details:
These 3 Wires are connected in the trunk (IBUS, Ground, and power)

A1 = Green/black wire ----------- Power
[where? Fuse slot 64 on Fuse holder]
[how? Using a blade terminal connector]
Connector Part number (approx)

09 Double leaf spring contact 2,5 MM² ? 61130007440 $3.17

Remove the two bolts that hold the rear fuse holder and turn it over to expose the bottom. Find slot 64 and populate it with the new blade terminal for power.

A2 = White/Grey/Yellow -------- IBUS
[where? Any empty slot on an existing IBUS wire junctions {there are a few on your car}]
[how? Using a Joint contact connector]

A3 = Brown/Black ----------------- Ground
[where? Any empty slot on an existing Ground wire junction]
[how? Using a Joint contact connector]
Connector Part number (approx)
08 Flat contact, fan connector 1,5-2,5 MM² ? 61131387144 $0.28

1 Wire routed to the rear shelf (rear speaker)
B = Blue/Red -------------------- Rear PDC Speaker
[Connector should come with your harness]
Fish wires through the rear port hole

3 Wires routed to front of car
E = Black/Yellow wire ----------- Front PDC Speaker
[where? Existing ‘gong’ speaker under glovebox –passenger side]
[Routing? From trunk - along rear seat – below foot wells – terminates at front ‘gong speaker’]
[Connector should come with your harness]

G1 = Brown/Grey/Yellow -------- Switch On
[where? Center switch – pin 8]
[Routing? From trunk - along rear seat – below foot wells – to center switch area – terminates @ pin 8]
[Socket Connector]
Connector Part number (approx)
03 Contact pin MQS 0,2-0,35MM²/SN ? 61131383672 $0.42
03 Contact pin MQS 0,25-0,35MM²/AU ? 61131392234 $0.70

G2 = Brown/Blue/Yellow -------- Switch Off
[where? Center switch – pin 9]
[Routing? From trunk - along rear seat – below foot wells – to center switch area – terminates @ pin 9]
[Socket Connector]
Connector Part number (approx)
03 Contact pin MQS 0,2-0,35MM²/SN ? 61131383672 $0.42
03 Contact pin MQS 0,25-0,35MM²/AU ? 61131392234 $0.70

Route G1 and G2 connectors to the back of the center console. Route from trunk battery area to rear seat to front/rear passenger footwells, make a turn at the glovebox into the center console. Remove the NAV, climate control, and your old button switch

Pull out the rear connector. Look for pin 8 and 9 and push the pin connectors into the corresponding holes.

Plug in the new switch and it works!!!

Mine worked without coding, but I used the retrofit function in DIS44 for to code it anyways.

There it is guys… Buttoned everything back up and done. Then gave her a good wash wax cleaned out the interior. Took about 6 hours to complete but mann I’m lovin this car even more now.
