I haven't tried Dawn, although probably a good way to degrease.

I change my blades annually since the glass is so soft, the little grit that gets imbedded in the glass cuts the blade causing that line during the wipe.

On top of that, I use the clay bar on it when I clay bar the car during detailing. That gets the glass silky smooth too.
