Subject: Re: braking problem for '98 528i

When I hit the brakes it seemed to have touch the rotors and then gave out putting my foot and the pedal all the way to the floor.

I did have to retract the pistons but did not bleed out the line. I checked the fluid level and it was all the way full. and I called around to auto parts stores and asked them if they carried any rotors and brake pads for a '98 BMW 528i. They look the exact same so I assumed they were the correct parts.
The only difference was the clipping on the back of the front pads to attach it into the piston.
I did not use the anti squeal compound so it makes sense why its squeaking.
Tomorrow I'll apply the anit squeal compound and try bleeding out the line and let you know how it's doing.
Thanks for the input
