I first tried changing the filter then I made a BIG mistake. I sprayed a disenfectant/deodorizer into the plenum while the fan was running. The car STINKS of the stuff and my wife now tells me that it makes her ill to drive the car. The original smell combined with the stronger "new" smell is coming out of the vents. It is certainly not the carpet. Does anyone know how I can access the the inside of the A/C system to wash it out? Of course I'm also worried that the original smell is still likely to return. What is going on with these cars?
