Thanks for replying. Sorry I didn't see that you'd replied to this until now.
I have a controller that I got for $45 (saves the $450 plus labor)from Ebay. I'm going to swap it out next weekend( This is what the dealer was going to do in the first phase of trying to fix this, but it was going to cast$$$.) Then I'll bring it to the Dealer for recoding and hopefully the diagnostic portion of the system will fix it or at least allow a fault code to be generated.

Not being cheap but I have to weigh how much is too much to put into a car that's worth as much as all the repairs.

If it turns out it's the seat mat I'll take you up on your diode fix.
