And that is also the reason that Joe could not turn the engine over after the timing chain failed, the seized engine caused the starter motor to short the battery and thus he gets a "code" from his radio
because the power has been removed (overloaded aux battery)...
I know that in india the mechanic would take the engine apart and
start fixing it, bending stuff back where possible and getting new
parts for what is unusable and rebuild the engine.
Here your best bet is a junkyard (pick-n-pull if you dare) or an
Ebay seller of a used engine with warranty (I bought a replacement
5HP30 tranny for my 540 that way)
Your car looks still perfect, so if the ride is still smooth and
you have recently invested in parts to keep it in shape then this is
a viable way. If not, then parting out is the last resort and can
actually give you decent money (even selling with "need engine")...
