My car has great side guard door beams, side marker reflector in front bumper surround, light in the turn signal pod, rear side marker/reflector in the bumper surround, reinforced € bumpers and kept the € lamps, albeit without the aiming system. I believe the car was submitted with US headlights and exhaust (with an 059 ECU) and the parts were returned to the car upon passing the EPA/DOT tests. This is only my guess. The car went to NC for its initial years and there was less inspection there than other states. If the car had gone to a state that had more rigorous annual inspections, the € lamps may have been lost along with the headlamp wipers.
