I did not have a large budget, so I looked at the American Tire / Discount Tire website for the tire that was lowest priced, still decent performance and closest to the specs of the E34.
In the width 215 they had a Falken Ziex ZE-512 for $71 in the size
215/60R-15 94H B which comes with a speed rating H (not that I plan to try going 130 MPH in this car with bad suspension) and 40,000 miles
warranty so I figured that this was reasonable for my 530 fixer-upper
which I bought for $1000 and use for my commute when I don't want to go by bicycle. Since the circumference is slightly less than standard,
the speed and ODO will indicate slightly high but that is OK.
