I've pretty much got to the stage that it has to be the ECU or a weird wiring fault.

12v at the coil.
Reference and speed sensors check out both static and cranking.

12v output at both pin 87s on the main relay and 12v at the injectors.

I just need to swap out an ECU to test. Of course it's the rare '81/82 one and the only one I don't have! Got one coming from an E24.

That M30b35 conversion is looking more appealing by the day.
